Developing Soft Skills through Group Work within the Framework of Teaching English at University

The article presents the results of the theoretical analysis of the conditions of soft skills development connected with the overcoming of the contradictions of the traditional system of education, which involves individual character of learning and dominance of frontal teaching, which impede the development of communicative competences. Top requested soft skills contributing to the professional success of the university graduate are reported. Amongst the most needed social competences there are such skills as communication, collaboration and creative thinking.

Socio-Pedagogical Problems of Children Returned from Substitute Families

Currently, the number of returns of children from foster families to public institutions reaches 10%. The study of the phenomenon of return of children from substitute families from the pedagogical and acmeological points of view is one of the most acute problems of modern social and pedagogical science and practice. The aim of the article is to identify the problems that arise among the returned children.

Return of Children from Substitute Families as a Socio-Pedagogical Phenomenon

The relevance of the study of returns of children from substitute families is due to a growing number adoptive parents refusing to raise in orphans and children left without parental care their families. The problem lies in the fact that the processes that occur with the child and the family in the situation of return remain unexplored; the very essence of returns as a pedagogical phenomenon is not completely clear; the contradictions and resources of a child’s return from substitute families are not disclosed.

The “Teacher” Concept in the Consciousness of Students of the Faculty of Education

The relevance of the study is determined by the search for means of psycholinguistic evaluation of the level of professional competence of students of the faculty of education. One of the tools is the modelling of the structure of professionally significant concepts based on the results of a free associative experiment. The purpose of the research: to reconstruct the “teacher” concept in the consciousness of future primary school teachers based on the survey of informants – students of the Faculty of Psychological, Pedagogical and Special Education.

Upbringing of Schoolchildren as an Effect of Friendly Communication with Children

The purpose of the research presented in the article was to connected with the definition of the role of the teacher’s communication with schoolchildren as a significant condition of upbringing. Education is interpreted by the author as a living process of interaction, the basis of which are real relationships, processes and phenomena as natural events surrounding the pupil of reality, capable of generating comprehension of cultural and vital meanings and values.

Risks and Prospects of Using Educational Internet Resources

Undoubtedly, Internet resources are sources of educational and scientific information that are in demand among students. Therefore, their development should be based on the fundamental pedagogical principles, one of which is the principle of natural conformity. This fact reveals the most important condition that predetermines the success of the human-machine educational system – the resource’s correspondence to the biological characteristics of the learner, including his/her cognitive processes (processes of perception, thinking, and memory).

Polysubjectness of Work Culture of Teachers and Students in the Modern Artistic and Educational Space

Present time is the period of intensive development of various multicultural and integration processes, therefore, it is important to understand that the state of the future society, the culture of its subjects, capable of preserving, creating, and transmitting the accumulated socio-cultural heritage, cultural samples of the views of the world and activity, depend on the solution of socio-cultural problems of the present, the choice of priority strategies for their solution, and axiological landmarks.

Inter-Age Interaction as a Pedagogical Condition of Supplementary Education (Working with Children outside the Classroom) in Russia in the late 19th – early 20th Century

The article presents data on theoretical analysis of the first experiment of using a mixed age interaction in out-of-school work with children in the early twentieth century. The issue of mixed age interaction was widely covered in psychological and pedagogical researches since the beginning of the last century and remains relevant today. At the same time, the interest of scientists to history and the current state of the system of additional education for children has increased.

Readiness of Children with Complex Impairments for School Education

The paper presents the results of an empirical study of various parameters of readiness for school education of children with complex visual and intellectual impairments. It is assumed that the readiness of children with visual and intellectual impairments for school education requires comprehensive, systematic, and long-term interaction of parents, pre-school teachers, specialist on mental defects and physical handicaps, and primary school teachers.
