Gender Pecularities of Olfactory Self-Presentation of a Personality in Social Interaction

The article discusses the role of natural and artificial smells in regulation of social interaction. It is pointed out that olfactory self-representation is not only cultural, but socio-psychological phenomenon as well. The article presents results of the empirical study of gender socio-psychological characteristics of olfactory self-presentation of a personality that has been carried out on a sample of 170 persons (90 men and 80 women aged 18–55 years old).

Educational Programs for Senior Citizens

The article views the problem of gerontoeducation as a factor of socialization and adaptation of senior citizens. It presents the data proving that one third of the elderly people in Russia have a need for learning. The article describes new forms of working with the elderly aimed at preservation of their social and intellectual activity, and allow them to maintain physical and spiritual well-being as long as possible.

Development of Resilience in Teachers under Conditions of Educational Environment at Institutions of Further Vocational Education

The problem under study is development of resilience in teachers under conditions of educational environment at institutions of further vocational education. It shows that modern teachers’ resilience is a personal disposition, which is the resource of prevention for negative professional and personal changes under conditions of multiple difficult situations in their professional activity.

The author presents theoretical analysis of the psychological and acmeological characteristics of military members’ professional growth. We present specific features of military service and possible deformations of the military member’s individuality, which can greatly hinder his professional growth. The study covers prospects of investigating military acmeology problems. It is noted that the process of becoming a professional military member has an extremely complex and controversial character.

Adaptational Possibilities of the School Graduates under Conditions of Changing Society

The article presents the results of theoretical and empiric research of the adaptational potential of senior school pupils. Utilization of the «Methods of the social and psychological adaptation research» by K. Rogers and R. Diamond, Mini-Mult checklist (MMPI) and 16PF-checklist by R. Cattell, methods of comparative and correlative analyses allowed to single out the characteristics of the adaptational potential among school graduates of 2011 and 2013 (n = 101, 16–17 y.o.).

Anthropological Crisis as a Reason of the Suicidal Behavior among Teenagers

The present article makes an attempt of analysis and contemplation about cultural, historical, psychological, and spiritual reasons of modern Russian teenagers’ suicidal behavior. The results showed that the reason is in an anthropological crisis that leads to dissociation with culture and spiritual traditions. People’s orientation towards surrogate values decreases the society’s synergy, brings in destructive and self-injurious forms of behavior (including suicidal attempts) and decreases the level of survivability.

The article presents results of an empiric research of the psychological content of difficult real-life situations and ways of overcoming them from the position of modern school children. Constructive and non-constructive ways of overcoming life difficulties are singled out; the article also discusses age-related and individual specific behavior of teenagers in difficult situations.
