The article presents the results of empirical study of emotional and moral factors of students’ social-psychological adaptation to higher educational institution environment. The objective of the study is to determine meaningful interconnections between social-psychological adaptation and empathy in relation to representatives of different age and social groups of first-year students. The article presents research results that demonstrate correlation between life values and social-psychological orientations at various stages of lawyers’ professional socialization (n = 258). Authors of the study used the following methods in the course of their investigation: “Morphological test of life values” by V. F. Sopov and L. V. Karpushina, “Diagnostic technique for social and psychological orientations of a personality in motivational and need-related spheres” by O. F. Potemkina (original questionnaire), and methods of mathematical statistics.

The article argues that from the point of view of diachronic approach, professional socialization of a university student in the university educational environment can be viewed as a life stage when he/she becomes an active subject of the professional development process. 154 professors from three Saratov educational institutions of higher learning and 54 students from the Department of psychological, pedagogical and special education of Saratov State University took part in the empirical study. The article brings forward the author’s definition, research program and the main results of the experimental investigation of the nucleus of the stuff, the core of which is represented in the interconnection between self-image and referentiality. We have developed the meth­odological grounds and methods of research of the qualitative charac­teristic of the nucleus of the stuff, motivational grounds for its prefer­ences: observation, experiment, testing, private conversation.

The article presents the results of theoretic and empirical investigations of ethnic and civil identity in representatives of various ethnic groups. The study was carried out on the proportionately selected sample consisting of representatives of the Russian, Kazakh, and Armenian ethnic groups from the city of Saratov, Saratov region (n = 32, males and females; aged 16–17). The article provides the results of empirical research conducted on a sample of adolescents 11–13 years (N = 100) with the use of reflective self-evaluation technique, «I and the Other», which includes verbal and graphic representations of personal interaction «I – Hero». The study identifies specific adolescents’ emotional and value attitude to the Hero, and emotional status of representation «Hero»: authoritarian, democratic, diffuse, repressive.

The article discusses interrelation between the hostility attribution and behavior scenarios with the children in aggression provoking situation. It has been found that the predominant cognitive styles used by the younger students to explain the reasons for peers’ behavior in aggression provoking situation are non-hostility and chance attribution, and tendency to forgiveness. Primary school students regardless of gender tend to choose the strategy of passive aggression and assertive response.

The article offers definition of identity from the theoretical angle of subjective-existential approach. It is pointed out that on the one hand personal identity reflects the degree of definiteness, consistency of personality’s system organization with inclusion of all the fields of its existence. On the other hand, personality defines itself as an actor, that holds a certain position in the system of social identifications and its identity is conditioned by the way a personality identifies Others in relation to itself.

The article discusses the current problem of information socialization in relation to her teenage stage. It is proved that the new information technologies are today both the means and the social environment of the individual in adolescence and early adulthood. It is argued that new information, the content expressed in the dynamics of the various areas of adolescent socialization.

The article discusses contents of the key concepts used in modern psychological research of personality adaptation. The author suggests that we define psychological adaptation as a developing process and a result of balanced and dynamic correlation between the requirements (capabilities) of environment and capabilities (requirements) of personality. The article throws light on correlation between categories of adaptation and interaction. Psychological adaptation is happens in a form of active interaction with the environment.
