Psychological and Acmeological Peculiarities of Students’ Motivation

The article presents theoretical analysis of the main approaches to the problem of personal motivational sphere. It views interconnections between motivation and professional’s self-consciousness, personal and professional development of a person. The study proves the viability of studying gender peculiarities of modern youth’s motivational sphere. Utilization of psychodiagnostic methods, which include Sandra L. Bem’s “Bem Sex Role Inventory” (BSRI), A. A. Rean and V. A. Yakunin’s “Method for diagnostics of academic motivation in students”, V. V. Skvortsova’s “Diagnostics of primary needs’ satisfaction degree”, T. Ehlers “Motivation to success”, Marlowe-Crowne Social Desirability Scale, on the sample of (n=200) students allowed to discover that motives of the student youth have their peculiarities depending on gender and gender identity. The applied aspect of the problem under study can be implemented in educational process optimization at institutions of higher education with consideration of prevailing motivational tendencies of the acme-directed type in the student youth.
