The article deals with the problem of personality’s maturity in the context of orphans’ socialization in conditions of developing environment of the therapeutic community “itezh”. The peculiarities of forming such components of personality’s maturity as independence, responsibility, emotional maturity, tolerance, orientation in time, are considered in the article.

The relevance of the res earch is determined by a scientifi c terminological confusion regarding of the term “metacognitivism”, concerning the nature and interrelationships between various metacognitive parameters, which has become widespread in psychology.
