Comparative Analysis of Behavior Self-Management and Self-Regulation in Adolescents with Different Levels of Autonomy

The article presents the results of a study in the formation of the ability to self-manage and self-regulate behavior in adolescents with different levels of autonomy (N = 117, aged 13–15), performed with the use of the following psychodiagnostic instruments: Autonomy- Dependence Questionnaire (G. S. Prygin), Style Self-Regulation of Human Behavior (V. I. Morosanova), and Self-Management Ability (N. M. Peisakhov).

Hardiness as a Predictor of Self-Realization in Difficult Life Situations

The article presents the results of a study which conclusively prove a correlation between self-realization and the individual’s hardiness. It is shown that under certain conditions (in difficult life situations) hardiness as a property of the personality is a predictor of self-fulfillment of the subjects of activity. The article outlines modern trends in research of self-realization in the context of the system paradigm. It further identifies main individual and personal determinants of the manifestation of personal self-realization.

When You Turn Out to Be the Outsider!

The article outlines the results of an empirical study of the phenomenological experience of the individual who finds himself/ herself in a situation of forced otherness, i.e. a situation where the individual, subjectively perceiving other people as belonging to his/ her in-group, is himself/herself perceived by them as an outsider. The study relies on qualitative methodology, which is based on case studies and whose units of analysis are emotional, cognitive, and behavioral indicators of the personality that is experiencing otherness.

Coaches’ Teaching Styles as Factors of its Effectiveness

The article presents the results of three lines of an experimental study. This study aimed to establish: coaches’ working styles and interrelationships between these styles; results of coaches’ works and interrelationships between these results; and the effect coaching styles had on the parameters of their effectiveness. Several styles of coaches’ work were identified: variative and preparative. The study also identified two types of coaching work: one focused on disciplining and health-improvement, the other focused on instruction and competitions.

Students’ Preferred Leisure Activities

The paper presents the results of a theoretical analysis of the problems of students’ preferred leisure activities. The socio-psychological importance of how these preferences are realized is defined as one of the factors of personality’s development and self-realization in the context of interaction between social and cultural groups of students. It is demonstrated that students who prefer going to shopping malls, do so to get positive emotional experiences: for them is not only a place for shopping but also a convenient (reasonable, optimal) leisure activity.

Time Prospective of Senior High School Students with Different Levels of Subjective Control

The paper presents the results of theoretical and empirical research of time perspective among senior high school students depending on the subjective control localization. The study was conducted on the samples of senior high school students from general schools of the city of Saratov with «extreme» level of subjective control (n=70). Age Dynamics of Multi-Level Properties of Individuality and Personal Tolerance for Uncertainty and Ambiguity

The paper presents the data of empirical research aimed at identifying the nature of relationship of tolerance for uncertainty and ambiguity, and inter-level properties of psychodynamic and personal levels in the structure of integrated individuality of students (N = 150) at the initial and final stage of training.

Interrelationships between Subjective Values of Events Occurred in the Childhood and Socio-Psychological Attitudes

The paper provides theoretical analysis of the problem of interrelationships between childhood experiences and socio-psychological attitudes of a person. It presents the results of the empirical study, carried out on a sample of people (from 18 to 30 years old), including students of institutions of higher education, software engineers, bank employees, teachers and representatives of other professions, using the following psycho-dynamical instruments: «Diagnostics of sociopsychological attitudes of a person in the motivational-need sphere» (O. Intercultural Competence and Big Five Factors: Problem Statement

The article reviews the problems of intercultural competence (ICC) in Western and Russian psychology. Special attention is given to considering the correlation between personality characteristics and intercultural competence using the example of Big Five factors. The results of empirical research of correlations between the indicators of intercultural competence and the Big Five factors in students are presented. For the diagnosis we used «The Scale of intercultural sensitivity» proposed by O. E. Khuhlaev and M. Y. Chibisova and «The Five Factors questionnaire» in M.

Reputation of a Neighbor, or Who Lives Near Us?

The article presents the results of empirical study that addresses perception of neighbors. As a major empirical method we used a questionnaire, using reflexive self-report technique «I – Other», which includes verbal statements and graphic representations. It revealed the presence of two strategies of perception and evaluation of neighbors: egocentric, focused on vested interest of a person, and dialogic, focused on the establishment of active connections and relationships with neighbors.
