Relevance: in the context of increasing life expectancy and the economic situation in the country and the world, the problem of moderating the correlation between personal and subjective qualities of people of pre-retirement age is becoming increasingly relevant. The purpose of the study is to identify the signifi cance of social and demographic characteristics and self-assessment of the family fi nancial situation which act out as moderators of the correlation between personal characteristics and economic and psychological maturity of pre-retirees.

At experiencing of difficult vital situations a man often emerge on a surface setting of victim. Installation on behavior of a victim – the specific form of social installation in which basis infantilism, a dependant orientation, aspiration to passive, advantageous adaptation in the environment with use of not constructive strategy interfering and tightening overcoming of a difficult situation. Since the victim differs the special ingenuity, all practical work assumes reorientation of this creative mechanism on creative permission of problems of personality sphere.

The research is relevant due to the necessity to explore how gaming motivational mechanisms reduce internal tension and shape gamers’ identity in massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG). The aim of the research is to investigate the role of gaming motivation shaping virtual identity and hardiness of young gamers. Hypothesis: gaming motivation correlates with reduced internal tension and infl uences the formation of gamers’ virtual identity in cyber space.

The article sets out the research data demonstrating the distinctive features of psychological defence used by the students of psychology departments with increased and decreased viability. Significant differences were found in the dominant psychological defence mechanisms of the students. It has been revealed that the students with increased viability are inclined to choose «denial» and «rationalization» as psychological defence mechanisms while the students with reduced viability choose «projection» and «regression».
