Peculiarities Manifestationsof of the Psychological Defence Mechanisms Used by the Students of Psychology Department at University Depending on Vitality
The article sets out the research data demonstrating the distinctive features of psychological defence used by the students of psychology departments with increased and decreased viability. Significant differences were found in the dominant psychological defence mechanisms of the students. It has been revealed that the students with increased viability are inclined to choose «denial» and «rationalization» as psychological defence mechanisms while the students with reduced viability choose «projection» and «regression». The data are presented by the answers of 66 first–fourth year students of psychology departments. The results of the study can be applied in advisory practice of the students of psychology departments, and serve as the basis for the subsequent development of the technology of psychological support of students of psychology departments with reduced viability.
