The article presents the condition of the modern Higher Professional Education in Russia and the world, main tendencies of its development, primarily connected with economic and political aspects of the society’s development, with the adaptation of the educational system to the market relations. It shows that the Higher Professional Education is included into the broader context of socio-cultural life and is not considered to be a narrow sphere of social life any more.

The article analyzes the results of a study of representations of Russians belong to different generations, the social, in particular, civil activity. The interaction between the older and younger generations is regarded as a significant factor as the development and functioning of society as a whole, and the formation of the next generations, their adaptation and socialization.

The article discusses the interrelation of the parental attitudes and the formation of adaptive readiness of school graduate. It is shown that the school educational environment and family influence on the development of skills providing social adaptation.

In modern society that is characterized by rapid changes, instability, turbulence, the importance of socionomic specialists work is increasing, as their main function is to help people. The prominent representatives of this professional segment are doctors and psychologists. Such personal qualities as responsibility, discipline, and empathy are necessary for specialists to effectively carry out professional activities, provide timely and high-quality assistance to those in need.

The purpose of the study presented in the article is to generalize theoretical and empirical studies on the relationship between adaptation and coping behaviour of international students in Russia. There is a pronounced tendency towards the increase in international students wishing to obtain higher education in Russia. Not only the “geography” of international students is expanding, but the number of Russian universities willing to enrol the students is also increasing.

The article presents the results of a theoretical analysis of sociopsychological adaptation of students in the conditions of mono- (institutions of general education) and poly- (institution of supplementary education) educational environments. It pays special attention to examining how successful social and psychological adaptation of adolescents is, depending on their involvement in the educational environment of an institution of supplementary education.

This article presents the results of theoretical and long-term empirical study of adaptive readiness of secondary school students. Students (N = 83) and class teachers (N = 3) participated in the longitudinal study. The use of the following complexes of psychological and pedagogical instruments allowed to study the dynamics of adaptive readiness of students with initially high and low levels: «Chart of monitoring students’ adaptiveness and effectiveness of their learning activities» by E.
