Abstract:

The purpose of this article is to analyse overcoming behaviour models in terms of the military socialization of cadet personality. The data show the dynamics of behaviour strategies throughout the entire period of training in military high school. It has been discovered that the third year cadets are exposed to use overcoming behaviour strategies against common crisis conditions, which is expressed in reducing the importance of active and prosocial strategies and strengthening of passive and aggressive ones. The analysis of personal predictors of preferred overcoming behaviour strategies indicates a relatively strong determination of variations of some strategies and low determination of others. The following strategies are most strongly determined by personal qualities and values: strategies for joining the social contacts (27% variations), search for social support (24% variations) and careful actions (23% variations). Under the influence of value (the value of spiritual fulfilment and well-being) prediction (17–19%) the cadets prefer to use these strategies that become the key elements in overcoming the third year crisis.
