Social Competence of an Elementary School Pupils: Developing Constructive Behavior Strategies

The article deals with analysis of opportunities of social competency of personality formation in elementary school age. The components of social competency are defined, its personal bases in a child are shown; conditions, ways and means of developing of specific components are described. The program of developing of constructive behavior strategies in difficult life situations for elementary school students is offered.

Psychological and pedagogical support of youths when developing their competence in the social activity manifestation

The relevance of the research is determined by the public demand for the development of scientifi cally based programs of work with modern young people that allow developing youths’ social activity. The objective of the study is to design the technology of psychological and pedagogical support of youths in their social activity manifestation that is based on the theoretical model of its structural and functional organization.

Correlation between Social Competence and Adaptive Capabilities of Students of Different Specialities

The paper presents the findings of a theoretical analysis of the correlation between a person’s adaptation and his/her social competence. It presents the results of an empirical study of the correlation between social competence and adaptive potential that was conducted on a sample of students (N = 80, aged 18–19) using the following diagnostic tools: the «Communicative social competence instrument» (CSC) (N. P. Fetiskin, V. V. Kozlov, T. M. Manuilov) and the «Social and psychological adaptation questionnaire» (K. Rogers and R. Diamond).
