“Gift” as a stigma: The role of self-stigmatization in the giftedness crisis and personal identity deformation in adolescents

The relevance of the study is due to the fact that adolescence is a sensitive period for the development of giftedness and the formation of a stable personal identity, a system of relationships with oneself and other people, which can be hindered by experiencing social stigmatization. In this context, identification of socio-psychological resources for maintaining subjective stability and proactive development of personality giftedness in the crisis conditions of the modern educational environment seems to be necessary.

Актуальность: подростковый возраст является сензитивным периодом для развития одаренности и формирования устойчивой личностной идентичности, системы отношений с собой и другими людьми, чему может препятствовать переживание социальной стигматизации. Вследствие этого, представляется необходимым определение социально-психологических ресурсов сохранения субъектной устойчивости и проактивного развития одаренности личности в кризисных условиях современной образовательной среды.

The relevance of the study is determined by the rapid growth in the number of studies on adolescents’ personal agency that require analysis. The personal agency of adolescents is increasingly viewed not just as a natural phenomenon of development, but as a desired teaching and educational result that attracts attention of psychologists and educators.
