Conceptual Framework of «Pedagogical Skills of a Reading Acmeologist» Course Design

The terms «reading» and «reader’s competence» are examined in the broad socio-cultural aspect. Reader’s incompetence is interpreted as a factor of social risk. The article highlights ways of solving problems linked to intensification of reading and increase of functional literacy in foreign countries and the Russian Federation. The article substantiates the significance of designing this innovative educational course. The article defines methodological foundation of the course.

The Correlation between the Empathic Potential and Literary Development of the Child-reader

The article demonstrates mechanisms of empathy of junior students during the lessons of literary reading. The author defines such terms as «reading», «reader’s development », and «reader’s competence». Reader’s development is represented with consideration of the principle of rising to “acme” of reader’s personal competence. The article formulates the hypothesis about the supremacy of axiological component of the process of forming reader’s competence in primary schoolchildren and their development as readers.
