Personal Ethnic and Civil Identity in Representatives of Various Ethnic Groups

Abstract: 

The article presents the results of theoretic and empirical investigations of ethnic and civil identity in representatives of various ethnic groups. The study was carried out on the proportionately selected sample consisting of representatives of the Russian, Kazakh, and Armenian ethnic groups from the city of Saratov, Saratov region (n = 32, males and females; aged 16–17). Application of the psychodiagnostic toolset: «Who am I?» questionnaire by Manfred Kuhn and Thomas McPartland, «Who are we?» questionnaire by V. A. Yadov, «Types of ethnic identity» by G. U. Soldatova and S. V. Ryzhova, methods of content analysis, and comparative analysis allowed to identify the specifics of patters of ethnic and civil identity in the samples under study. The applied aspect of the problem under study can be implemented in the development of programs of psychological and pedagogic accompaniment of formation and development of civil identity as an integral structure within the system of personal and socio-cultural identity of students.
