The Study of Social and Psychological Adaptation of the Compatriots Moving from the Neighboring Countries to Russia: Scientific and Methodical Aspect
The article argues for the adaptation research topicality of compatriots’ moving from neighboring countries to Russia, deals with methodical aspects of social-psychological and individual-personal factors, influencing migrants-compatriots’ adaptation success. It is expected that along with universality of expected problems migrants-compatriots’ social-psychological adaptation will have its specificity, caused by psychological characteristics and conditions of the resettlement of this category of migrants to Russia. It is suggested that such factor as meeting homeland, return to homeland, the country, similar in psychological and cultural-historical terms, will play a special role in compatriots’ adaptation in Russia, which is expressed in common language, customs, traditions, spiritual culture. Special emphasis in the methodical part of research program is placed on the next significant adaptation factors: the content of migration motives and their hierarchy, the correspondence of the dominant value orientations with the motives of migration behavior, the existence and nature of nostalgic feelings, the level of subjective well-being, satisfaction degree with different aspects of life, including relations with host population, attitude actualization towards establishing the widest relations with new environment and preserving the characteristics that distinguish compatriots from indigene (receiving) community.
