Relevance: the issues of building an individual’s relationships with their physical and social environment have always been and will be relevant and significant both for a person and society. One of the constructive approaches to their study is the concept of V. I. Panov (ecopsychological approach to the mental development). Some of the methodological and procedural limitations of this concept can be overcome and receive constructive development in line with and within the logic of other scientifi c approaches (for example, in the concept of business communication styles). Purpose: methodological refl ection on the features of studying the ecopsychological interactions of agents in modern organizations. The study hypothesizes that reference to the related scientific concepts and new models of studying interaction between subjects allows us to identify their boundaries and possibilities of their development, to clarify peculiarities of building interaction between people, and to expand our “horizons of understanding”. Methods (tools): analysis and generalization of empirical research data, methodological reflection on historically established scientific approaches to studying the interaction of agents and styles. Main results: the basic principles of the ecopsychological approach to the development of mind were developed primarily in connection with the models of educational activity (in secondary and higher education), and the expansion of their range allows us to identify both general and specific features in the concept of the ecopsychological typology of agent environment interactions, as well as in other related concepts (such as concepts of styles, etc.). Studies of business communication styles reveal new features of both the space organization and the self-organization of interactions between the agents of joint activity. Highlighted: regular identification of six different the concept of business communication styles in different samples using different techniques and of six styles that are grouped into three pairs of mutually complementary systems. The three pairs of identified styles have different operational compositions and reflect different instrumental capabilities of their agents (and possibly as personalities). The development of an agent-oriented type of interaction is most likely to occur in pairs of individuals with instrumentally profi cient and harmonious types. The identifi ed eff ects of the space organization by an activity agent include the phenomena of a “psychological niche” and “asymmetry in the preference for the partner’s qualities,” which detail and specify the features of people’s interaction as agents of joint activity. Conclusion: the concept of business communication styles, which integrates the heuristic potential of the long-studied issues of styles (activity, leadership, etc.), can serve as a constructive framework for further study of ecopsychological interactions and for developing this approach. Practical significance: the methodological reflection on the features of scientific concepts creates the preconditions for developing psychological technologies with great opportunities for managing the human resources of an organization and with great potential for tackling scientific and practical problems.
