Relevance: in the modern transitional world cultural memory is becoming a key resource for adapting to rapid changes. It allows maintaining a human dimension in the digital era and fi nding common ground in a world of multiple truths. The study purpose is to analyze cultural memory based on fundamental beliefs when interpreting historical events. It also aims to empirically verify the contributions of cultural memory to ethnic identity.

The man lives in two worlds simultaneously in the world of material existence and in the world of spiritual eternalty (in the world of culture). The world of culture results from work and transformation of its forms and methods (pedagogical process), technological equipment of work. The culture represents mastered and enbodied into different subjects experience of ability to live. The social institute of higher education represents the mechanism of purposeful transfer of such experience located in a surtain professional sphere.
