In this abstract the author considers 5 strategies of pedagogical accompaniment of students’ communicative development while learning the English language: moderating (first-year students), agreement (second-year students), facilitation (thirdyear students), cooperation (fourth-year students) and coaching (fifth-year students). The key role of a lecturer is to advance his students communicatively for them to be able to be in great demand in today’s society. In our opinion, students’ successful communicative development is closely connected with the lecturer’s involvement in this process. The older and the more communicatively developed the students are, the weaker the lecturer’s role is.
