The article is focused on the concept «personality image» in historical and pedagogical context. The concept includes some qualities of an advocate of the ideals of culture and goals of education. Its content and methodological significance in the system «culture-education», its place in the pedagogical terminology inventory and correlation with the concepts «goal of education», «pedagogical ideal» are under analysis in the article.

The relevance of the study is due to the necessity to develop st udents’ self-organization skills in the process of their education since this competence needs mastering by specialists while their implementing professional activities in modern work conditions. The objective of the study is to establish the correlation between self-organization of educational activities and refl exivity of students, depending on gender.

Kompetentnostnyy approach is given by possibility of pereorientacii of educational process from primary translation of certain aggregate of knowledges, abilities and skills to conditioning for development of personality potential, preparations of graduating student to the productive independent action in a professional sphere and everyday life.

We discuss the need for a deliberate forming in the conditions of the modern world the readiness to interact with educational space subjects of other ethnicities in future teachers. The results of empirical research carried out on a sample of students of teaching and non-teaching areas and specialties who study at the Federal State Public Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education “Ural State Pedagogical University” (n = 60 students, aged from 18 to 23 years) using the  diagnostic tools: E. Bogardus’s social distance scale, G. U.

The article is having a discussion nature and addressed to the moral situation in the modern Russian society. It studies the related problems of inroduction into the school programm of a new subject “The bases of religious cultures and secular ethics”.
