Satisfaction with Different Life Aspects as an Indicator of Social and Psychological Adaptation Success of Fellow Countrymen in Russia
de monstrates the complexity and uncertainty of the studied phenomenon of life satisfaction and phenomenon’s conditionality. The paper describes a variety of determinants of life satisfaction. It was established that the degree of aspirations and achievements, as well as the existence of achievement dynamics (positive or negative) in the primary life spheres before and after migration, has the prime importance among many factors affecting the level of life satisfaction among migrants. We demonstrate the data of the level of concordance between expectations before the migration and the real conditions of life and the dynamics of satisfaction with particular aspects of life derived from a qualitative analysis of the results of the pilot study of social and psychological adaptation of compatriots migrating from the former Soviet republics to the territory of Saratov and Smolensk regions.
