The article deals with the problem of studying the specificity of poetic speech in elementary school. Stihovedchesky analysis of the text in the classroom literary reading is a prerequisite for comprehension of poetic work. Acquaintance with the basics of prosody is advisable to record observations of a form of verse, with an explanation of the difference between poetic speech from prose. The concept of «rhythm», «rhyme», «verse» is used as a tool for the analysis of the work, revealing his sense of wealth.
