In the article importance of the learning subject «Basis of the museum-exhibition work» in the process of the professional education of the museum specialist (and leisure organizers) is considered. The content of the subject, the teaching problems, the pedagogical methods of the teacher are revealed. The criteria of the future museum workers’ competence are determined.
