A Person as a Subject in the Continuum «Prerequisites – Competencies»

Autors:
Tolochek Vladimir A., Institute of Psychology RAS
Abstract:

Purpose of the study: to reveal both the nature of their interrelations and the functional relationships of the reflected phenomena (as fragments of social reality) through analyzing the practice of using a number of scientific terms in psychology. Interrelations between these concepts can be represented with the continuum: Prerequisites < Abilities < Special abilities < Professional abilities < Professionallysignificant qualities < Competences < Competence; as well as with the following sequence: Potential < Intrasubject resources < Extrasubject resources. Three variants of formalization of the functional and genetic relationships of the analyzed concepts are proposed: a) according to the principle of transitivity (based on the ratio of logical volume and the content of terms); this option has been given above; b) as functions of relations between arguments: Abilities (general) = f (Prerequisites, Activity, Time); Special abilities = f (Abilities, Specialized activity, Space, Time), etc.; c) The third version of formalization is presented as the dynamics of the development of functional systems in the coordinates “Space” and “Time”, which at different stages of system development can be described by means of new “vectors” reflecting new up-to-date conditions of the environment and time. Formal relations of the terms, which have been singled out, allow us to focus our attention on the essential properties of the corresponding fragments of reality, at that the analyzed terms remain an open system.
