Level Characteristics of Empathy and Suicidal Intentions of Teenagers
The article presents the results of empirical study, which investigates correlation between empathy level characteristics and teenagers' suicidal behavior. The use of psycho-diagnostic tools (questionnaire for suicidal behavior identification by A. A. Kucher and V. P. Kostukevich, T. N. Razuvaeva's questionnaire on suicidal risk, questionnaire on ability to empathy by A. Mehrabian and N. Epschtein) based on a sample of teenagers (N=100), revealed that the high level of empathy is one of the factors, which leads to suicidal risk decrease. The applied aspect of the problem under study can be implemented for programs that are aimed at the development of a teenager's personal empathic abilities in terms of his/her psychological and pedagogical support.
